I climbed Handies solo in August of 2001. I took the Grizzly Gulch trail up from Cinnamon Pass Road. It's a great trail with little traffic, but a harder climb than the standard American Basin route. The solitude and views made it well worth the effort.
Just over my shoulder in the photo you can see Wetterhorn Peak and then further to the left, the large flat top peak is Uncomphagre. I made it to the summit in a blazing 2 hours and 16 minutes, and then back down in an hour and a half. It wasn't too bad as I was traveling extremely light and wearing running shoes. Plus I had my dog Mahli to pull me up the steep parts at the begining.
